I’m not really sure I have anything to add to that, you guys. It’s not the first time I’ve seen Gasquet’s backhand in person, but I had to stifle a gasp every time I saw it. It didn’t matter if the ball went in or out or if he won the point. I mean, it probably mattered to him, but not to me. I was just IN AWE. Clearly Timmy was in awe too because he kept hitting to Richie’s backhand. I’m not sure that was the best strategy.

-Richie was pushed to deuce in the first game, but he held. There was this one long rally that lasted about 1,032 shots, backhand to forehand, and at the end of it Richie hit a BEAUTY of a backhand lob and it was so great that FANBOY TIM even clapped.

At this point, it was clear that Richie was DIALED. IN. He hit a backhand winner that was so spectacular that the Tim KAD next to me attempts to say “Allez.” It didn’t not go well, but I gave her an “A” for effort.

Johnson n a pas pu degommer le 3eme Uber-serveur de son tableau, Raonic va affronter Young… je ne vois pas d exploit a priori mais sait-on jamais ? Il a enchaine Bennet, Istomin et Anderson, ce sont des perfs dignes d une finale en 250. C etait moins costaud pour Goffin, a part Kohli. Thiem a eu aussi un parcours un peu plus releve que Tintin a priori…
Rao n a quasi joue que des TB depuis le debut du tournoi (en dehors du 62 final contre Johnson)

J ai lu une nouvelle interview de Seppik, le preparateur physique cingle de Thiem, super interessant ! C Thiem qui a insiste pour rajouter Gstaad a son programme pcq il pensait qu il pouvait se faire des points, ils l ont laisse faire en se disant que c etait une connerie, mais qu il devait faire erreurs et experiences comme un grand.

C est bien les cheris, et quand mm une sacree perf pour Richie quasi tout le temps blesse depuis le debut de l annee (la blessure au bras de Bogota avait deja sevi au Queens, d ou la sortie prematuree), car Nishi etait bien plus en forme qu a Bercy; En fait, il n a fait que des tournois de reprise apres blessure, c est plutot pas mal dans ces conditions : 3eme tour a l AO et a RG, finale a Montpellier et Eastbourne, demi a Marseille et (pour l instant) a Washington…
Maintenant les mecs, vous m emballez les titres dans la foulee et je considererais les menus frais de mon sejour impromptu dans la capitale des finnois comme une broutille!

PS : je lis sur la Crypte que Kei etait bande a la cheville, ils font un peu un concours tous les deux…. mais neanmoins, d apres les rapports, ts bon match de Richard niveau revers et service, 20 winners et 4 UE…
On va voir qui l emporte entre le tombeur de Berdych et celui de Nishi !
